Retrospective: Semmering Symposium 2007

For the first time, the Symposium in 2007 was not held in Semmering but in Baden, a traditional health resort near Vienna. Nevertheless the title "Semmering Symposium" was maintained, thanks to it's high recognition.

In 2007 more than 170 participants from leading academic laboratories, major vaccine industries, financial institutions, but also from non-profit organizations came together in Baden near Vienna to discuss the latest achievements and trends in the vaccine arena. The conference was followed by journalists from general and specialized media, including Nature Biotech, BioCentury and Vaccines.

The symposium confirmed the come back of vaccines and the importance of novel vaccine strategies. Cutting-edge discoveries were presented by scientists in the field of microbiology and immunology as well as by industrial vaccine developers.

The Vienna Vaccines Symposia have become an international top forum that attracts the best people in its class and is also set up to inform journalists, students and health care specialists about this fascinating area.
